Open Atelier People: Ana Porok

Text by Ana Porok

What do you do?

I am the curator of Architecture and Design at the Museum and Galleries of Ljubljana, specializing in the life and work of the Slovenian architect Jože Plečnik.

What part of your institution is your favourite – i.e., a painting, a view, the colleagues, or something completely different – and why?

My favorite part is the cylindrical annex in Plečnik’s House, because every time I walk in, I still see things that surprise me. It’s like a microcosm of the architect's universe and here he tested all his innovative ideas.

Why is Open Atelier important to you and what are you looking forward to?

I am delighted that by opening its doors to the young public, the project will innovate the use, understanding and engagement with the museum, turning it into an "experience laboratory", where cultural heritage is the starting point for new interactions and experiences between the public and the museum and its experts.
