Launch of Open Atelier Digital Competition

The Digital Competition is open!

From February 6th to May 6th 2024, the Open Atelier project is calling on all creative talents to explore the potential of Cultural Heritage as strategic catalyst for the achievement of the social, economic and environmental tasks blueprinted by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the core of the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda. The Digital Competition aims to nourish and promote this concept through the development of innovative multi-media and co-creative formats based on the envisioning of new interpretations and uses of the collections of the four Open Atelier museums – Einar Jónsson Museum (Iceland), Plečnik House at Museum and Galleries of Ljubljana (Slovenia), Millesgården (Sweden) and Art Museums of Skagen (Denmark).

Participants will be invited to elaborate the images depicting some of the distinctive elements among the museums’ mission and collection, in the light of their possible connection with or involvement in the achievement of one or multiple SDGs. The ensuing proposals will be conveyed through a “visual statement”, intended to harness the powerful link between cultural heritage and people, to foster positive changes, and to support the construction of a sustainable, fair, prosperous and peaceful future.
