Open Atelier Experiences

Open Atelier Experiences: innovative formats for audience engagement

The main goals of the Open Atelier project will be addressed through the development of a set of innovative Experiences – a series of participatory and co-creative actions that will be designed through the inter-disciplinary collaboration of all the partners and will be realized in the four museums involved. Open Atelier Experiences are meant to test and disseminate groundbreaking audience-centered strategies to enhance the role of cultural heritage as a catalyst for new interactions between the contemporary society, the museum and its professionals.

These actions will be designed throughout a sequence of workshops, during which all the partners involved will coalesce their specific skills and thus collaboratively and co-creatively set up a theoretical and practical background. This process will lead first to the definition and then to the experimentation with the envisioned practices, in order to test and validate their effectiveness. The Open Atelier Experiences will draw on the collections and contents of the four museums involved, and will produce a set of formats that other museums will be able to use in the enhancement of their engagement with their established public as well as new audiences.
